rather unbelievably our little baby boy turned two this week and we were blessed with a plethora of opportunities to celebrate. the day began with a mountain of gifts sent from loved ones at home. the general themes were diggers, trains, tractors and the marvellous peppa pig.

the débutante
tonight we presented lily to the dhaka elite. nicki and fredrik threw a party and our friends took it in turns to have a cuddle.

cow bazaar
we have been on the look out all week but it was only this morning that the oversized hump-backed cows started to appear outside the gates on our street. there are rumours of cow shortages and an increasing preference to celebrate eid al-adha in the villages but given the number of tethered beasts along the roadside there will be no shortage of bloodshed tomorrow morning.

bye bye batman
one advantage of getting home early has been the chance for neve to celebrate halloween with his pals. we didn't get our act together in time on the costume front and were grateful to nikki for the loan of her batman onesie.
