
it has been a rough day for the pip, starting at 6.45am with a fall onto a slide-flute which was rammed painfully into the roof of his mouth. over the rest of the day he has collected two bruised knees, a grazed palm and the pain in his mouth has meant he couldn't manage much more than a banana.

in flagrant disregard of the education act, dan and boo skipped school this morning and boarded a train to edinburgh in order to meet their cousin lily. we were due to see them in the lakes next week but they simply couldn't wait any longer to meet her.

we are celebrating bangla new year and the arrival of 1419. neve and i joined hundreds of thousands of revellers to watch a procession of giant papier-mâché animals parade through the university and listened to musicians playing on stages across the campus.
